Efficient Mail Submission & Delivery (EMSD) is an Internet messaging protocol that is highly optimized for short messages. EMSD is an extension of the existing Internet e-mail environment which accommodates the two-way paging model of usage. Using EMSD, time-critical messages are promptly "pushed" to the recipient in a highly efficient manner.
